I'll throw this out to the list...
It seems that on 11.0, pidgin won't link to the mozilla-nss package.
Disabling the use of Seamonkey's nss results in a build without nss,
and of course, you can enable Seamonkey's nss, but it's already been
shown that it's not going to provide a stable ABI for pidgin to link.
Pat advised that he does not intend to add gnutls to 11.0, so unless
something changes, he will not be putting pidgin in 11.0 either, as
that is currently the only way (it seems) to get stable nss support.
With that said... If someone figures out how to force pidgin to link
against the mozilla-nss package, please advise Pat. Otherwise, and
until further notice, pidgin is fair game for a submission to
SlackBuilds.org.
