[Slackbuilds-users] problem with medit package

Hello,
medit's slackbuild (Development > medit) adds a couple of files that
will overwrite important files in /usr/share/mime/, instead of update
them. More precisely
usr/share/mime/globs
usr/share/mime/magic
usr/share/mime/subclasses
usr/share/mime/aliases
usr/share/mime/mime.cache, etc.
After I installpkg the package created, most of the icons in Xfce
changed to the default icon. I had to re-installpkg shared-mime-info
and almost everything went back to normal (it came back completely to
normal after I removepkg'ed medit and reinstalled again
shared-mime-info).
Apparently the makefile runs update-mime-database with the medit build
directory and that throws an unhappy message but other than that I
have no idea how to fix it.
