all the question is about to make the 13.x repo to be retrocompatible or not.

just leave it .tgz,

makepkg script adds also .tbz and .tlz as compression options, so if
it's so important to support the new format, why not suport those ones
too?

anyway the user can easily grab the .SlackBuild, read and change it to
the desired compression strategy
