Hence I submit to you the attached patch for the audacity slackbuild, which backports the upstream patch. The slackbuild runs fine on -current with this patch, and I don't think the patch affects the build on 13.1. We do what upstream does unless there's a compelling reason to change it (and things will still work after the change). Thanks for your reply. It's a shared hosting package with downtownhost.com. I don't normally have access to the Exim logs so I spoke the host and our domain has three recent messages: two rejections based on spamhaus (which I didn't know it used)l; and your mail to the mailing list. This was after I retried submitting the package several times just now while speaking to the host. So basically I guess Exim isn't logging it unless there is a DATA command or the like as well. Is it possible for me to get a copy of the script so I can set it up on another server to find the cause? This is really bizarre. I tried again just now, using both the forwarder and a real mailbox I added and it still was rejected. The only things I can think of that could possibly be different between the telnet session and the server running it: the timing and the interpretation of the messages by the script. But it's really unlikely to be the interpretation seeing it works for every other host so far. I tried sticking the SMTP commands in a text file and piping them over netcat from my home connection to simulate the speed of the server and it worked fine. But then again I'm in Australia, maybe the shorter latency between omnitude.net (US hosted) and dexter.onyxlight.net is a factor. At a loss here... I'm wondering what the best practice is in this case -- should I try writing the maintainer again? Should I submit the new script, etc (it really isn't mine -- I just modified it)? Hey Thomas, I pulled exim-4.74 and exim-html-4.74 sources yesterday, and I had intended to look into bumping both of them before I pushed out the update. How's that sound? If you've gotten no response after all this time, consider it to be abandoned, and feel free to submit an update. You can make a note in the build script pointing out that you maintain it now, but either way, be sure to change the MAINTAINER and EMAIL values in the .info file. -RW -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... How's that sound? Any other changes need to be made? 4.73 -> 4.74 is basically just a version bump. There's a new feature that allows lookups to be dynamic libraries instead of a part of the monolithic Exim daemon, but it's not enabled by default. However, it would be nice to have the updated exim.Makefile containing said feature in the comment section, so I've already prepared a new submission currently waiting at http://beingboiled.info/tmp/exim.tar.gz Long story short: version bump, fetching the exim.tar.gz, asking me to resubmit - anything will do. Unfortunately, "exim-html" is semi-broken since 4.73, referencing CSS and images which are not part of the package. According to Exim's git repository this is not meant to be permanent, so I'd rather leave exim-html at 4.72 till there's a proper standalone documentation again. -- From rworkman at slackbuilds.org Sun Jan 30 15:20:21 2011 From: rworkman at slackbuilds.org (Robby Workman) Date: Sun, 30 Jan 2011 09:20:21 -0600 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] request for removal: exim In-Reply-To: <20110130150316.GA20961@arktinen> References: <20110129233000.GA18022@arktinen> <20110129221938.17189f1e@liberty.rlwhome.lan> <20110130150316.GA20961@arktinen> Message-ID: <20110130092021.796b7f6c@liberty.rlwhome.lan> On Sun, 30 Jan 2011 16:03:16 +0100 Thomas Morper wrote: > On Sat, Jan 29, 2011 at 10:19:38PM -0600, Robby Workman wrote: > > > I pulled exim-4.74 and exim-html-4.74 sources yesterday, and I had > > intended to look into bumping both of them before I pushed out the > > update.
