Ah yes, but they did not imply the nvidia headers are not needed or 
deprecated.  Nvidia recognizes that most people just need the driver and 
libs and won't compile against them. That, after all is the job of the 
distro package maintainers.

What I  will do, on the next update, is leave them as *-nvidia and use 
nvidia-switch to make them optionally available.
