Trying to reach Binh Nguyen, maintainer of zathura (no response to direct
email), apologies for spamming the list.

The SBo version of zathura is pretty outdated, wondering if you had any
plans to update it.

If not, I've got working builds for zathura-0.1.1, its poppler plugin,
and its UI library (girara), mind if I submit them?

I'm trying to build obconf, but am unable to download the file from the
download directory:

ftp://harrier.slackbuilds.org/misc/obconf-git_cc7a188076.tar.xz

wget gives me an empty file, and trying to download it through lftp as
an anonymous user, I get nothing, status looping at 0 (0%) [Delaying
before retry] / [Connection idle]

I suppose I could download it directly from the obconf git repository,
but thought I should at least let my obstruction be known.

Part A: no.
Part B: yes.

Either kernel or hardware errors were behind this. We don't know 
which it was. But the link is working now.

Sorry for not replying to you sooner, as I do not read the list on
day-to-day basis. It's about twice a week for me.

For this much change to packaging with zathura 0.1, I prefer to update
it when the new version of Slackware comes.

Anyway, if you are still interested, I would be more than happy if you
take over the maintenance.

FWIW that old IP is still ours, but it's a minimal VPS. Most of the

update lua to its latest version as 5.2.0 is out since some time: I

   I have no idea because I don't know what OpenShot is or does. But, if it's
a missing library it could be either 32- or 64-bit. Someone with more
expertise than I have will need to comment on this issue.

It's an Video Editor. It's strange because I'm a Salix OS packager and I 
maintain OpenShot for it... and it doesn't show any errors. Perhaps I'll 
talk with the Slackbuild maintainer myself about the issue.

I put a static IP before and that caused the problem

Neither of these require multilib. Tuxguitar has a 64bit download link,
openshot lists frei0r as a required dependency.

funnily enough I was going to ask Patrick to add Lua to Slack and
recompile gnuplot against it to enable the tikz/pgf output terminal.
Gnuplot 4.6 supports both 5.1 and 5.2.

It should be nice to have lua in current, but maybe it's a little
premature to add 5.2.x, there's just a few stuff supporting it at

I actually have a PDF that the old version of zathura failed to display
correctly, so I had to make slackbuilds for the new version for my own
use anyway.

plugin, plus its new dependency (girara)... and the new zathura postscript

  I kinda bit off more than I could chew and got a bit ahead of myself and tried 
to 'help' with a package update and didn't quite follow the rules as correctly 
as I'd thought.

  Pierre C is the maintainer for package wxcam and I turned in an update build 
for that package and just need to let the package folks know they should get rid 
of mine and accept Pierre's instead (he will soon or already has, be contacting 
the list or someone in charge about this).

  I apologize for making things any harder than they need to be and I'll try not 
to learn the hard way so often, heh.

Hi,

I am thinking of modifying the slackbuild script for Adobe Reader to
add the fonts provided with it to the system's path, more specifically
the otf fonts.

The reason I wish to do this is that the Minion and myriad font are
rather nice and used quite often by people in documents. The fonts
have the same licence as the rest of the application and allows the
user to use them and embed them in documents as they please.

So my first question is: is it acceptable to do so? and the subsequent
one being, if it is, should I just copy the fonts to
/use/share/fonts/OTF or link them there?

I would say no.  The Adobe Acrobat Reader fonts are subject to the Adobe
Acrobat Reader software EULA and I don't see a "do what you want clause."
There are some redistribution and usage issues and the EULA does not allow
you to do "as you please."

There are plenty of decent public domain, open source and creative commons
fonts if you are looking for document  creation.

That said, as I am definitely not a lawyer (and I really do detest EULAs in

"no" and link them for system wide installation.

1. Are you building on Slackware, or another distribution?
2. Are you building on current or 13.37?
3. Are you building on 32 bit, 64 bit, or multilib?
4. Are you building as the Superuser (root)?
5. Have you installed all the dependencies listed in the README?
6. Did you check that all the dependencies are up-to-date?
7. Are you building on a default installation?

Well I have built perl-gtk2 on multiple systems with 13.37, 13.1 and
various current, both i486 and x86_64 -- and I try very hard not to
have a dirty build system, and would rather pluck out my eyes than use
the closed source nvidia driver ;-) -- and there are usually some
tests that fail.  Well, actually I can't remember even *once* that the
tests succeeded.  Despite failures, the built packages have always
worked acceptably.  So I just delete 'make test'.  At a guess, there
are race conditions in some tests, and/or they tickle various bugs in
various versions of various xorg drivers on various hardware, etc etc

Just disable the tests and be happy :D

that's what i did... but since i submitted a SlackBuild that depends  
on perl-gtk2 (clamtk) I just wanted to point it out. I did not write  
about this earlier as i had perl-gtk2 already installed when making  
this SLackBuild and had just forgotten about it...

It builds here just fine. In that thread I don't see any errors, beyond missing
deps. I would start there, make sure all the required deps are installed.

same here. compiled ok with the dependencies and subdependencies etc.

Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] Issue With Latest pflogsumm

   The package update list mailed Wednesday included an updated pflogsumm,
and the page on the SBo Web site recommended it for those of us running
postfix-2,9.x. I have a problem with it and would like your assistance in
resolving the issue.

   I've used the same pflogsumm (non-SBo) for years, and it's worked just
fine with all postfix versions including the current 2.9.1. The executable
was in /usr/local/bin/.

   Yesterday I downloaded the current version, built, and installed it. This
morning, instead of the usual summary of yesterday's maillog I got this:
