I'm about to submit something unusual, so I thought it's better to
report it also on the ML, so if someone has some reasonable objections
about it I won't send it.

Stephan Beckert, that's developing freesigs on Slackware (
https://bitbucket.org/becki/freesigs ), contacted me asking if I can
update lua to its latest version as 5.2.0 is out since some time: I
told him that I have explained on linuxquestions that lua-5.2.x is
incompatible with lua-5.1.x, and many piece of software depending on
it will simply stop working with the newer version

and that I was thinking to submit the update for 5.1.5 (actually, I
have already submitted it).

he told me that lua-5.2.x has some interesting features for
developers, such as native bitwise operations, that he is using on his
project, so asked me if it was possible to add this version too:
seeming reasonable to me, I prepared a slackbuild for lua52 that I
plan to submit when I'll be back from Washington D.C. (will be there
next week :D ).

If you think it's not the case, just whistle :)
