Same here. As mentioned in the release notes:

(Linux) Audacity does not currently compile against very recent FFmpeg 
(0.10 or later are known to be affected)

So yep, '--with-ffmpeg'  is broken atm.  Surfing the various forums 
indicate compiling with anything above ffmpeg 9.x is a crap shoot.
