I am not sure what to try next.
With lazarus-0.9.30.4, I was able to build easymp3gain

2 - mp3gain-1.5.2.r2-i486-1_SBo.tgz
3 - vorbisgain-0.37-i486-1_SBo.tgz
4 - fpc-2.6.0-i386-2_SBo.tgz
5 - fpc-source-2.6.0-noarch-1_SBo.tgz
6 - lazarus-0.9.30.4-i386-1_SBo.tgz
7 - easymp3gain-0.5.0-i386-1_SBo.tgz

# pwd
/root
# ls -l .lazarus/
total 0
