[Slackbuilds-users] Dia version 0.97.2 on SlackBuilds.org is broken

Dear users,

The Dia on SlackBuilds.org is broken. It compiles and installs fine,
however, upon launching the program the GUI flashes for a second and quits.
I tried dia-0.97.1 from SourceForge using the SlackBuilds script and it
compiled and installed fine but upon launch same thing happened. The
console output of the crash is this:

(dia:4522): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: attempting to add an interface
(DiaInteractiveRendererInterface) to class (DiaGdkRenderer) after class_init

** (dia:4522): CRITICAL **: dia_renderer_set_size: assertion `irenderer !=
NULL' failed

** (dia:4522): CRITICAL **: dia_renderer_set_size: assertion `irenderer !=
NULL' failed
Segmentation fault


This is related to bug:

Is there a workaround other than this:

because persistence file does not exist under ~/.dia and creating file and
editing it as suggested does not work.
