Try "type pdftk", it should tell you "pdftk is /usr/bin/pdftk", or "pdftk is hashed (/usr/bin/pdftk)", if it says /usr/local/bin or that it's an alias, you've found your problem. Since I can't test it myself, I haven't submitted it to SBo. > > If anyone is interesting in it, it is accessible in my github slackbuilds repo: > > https://github.com/jvvv/slackbuilds/tree/master/sflphone > https://github.com/jvvv/slackbuilds/tree/master/ucommon > https://github.com/jvvv/slackbuilds/tree/master/ccrtp > https://github.com/jvvv/slackbuilds/tree/master/libzrtpcpp The sflphone webbsite looked interesting so I built your packages but found I couldn't do video with it. After also building the gnome client directory (not just the kde client directory), the video became available. That needs additional prerequisites to build - cogl, clutter & clutter-gtk. That much looks good. I couldn't make the user registration work though - even after going through the registration wizard, it still reports "No registered accounts". Before I look into the video issue, I'd like to make sure you used the "WITH_VIDEO=yes" option for the sflphone SlackBuild. I don't currently have build scripts for the gtk deps, but when I get time I can work on these (gsb or dropline might be a place I could start). If you want to build the gnome version, I have Slack.builds for the dependent packages at: https://github.com/cwilling/slackbuilds/tree/sflphone where you'll find graphics/cogl, libraries/clutter and /libraries/clutter-gtk. They contain some extra stuff compared to regulation SBo scripts, which is used for a particular build environment but is completely transparent to ordinary usage. Given the pervasive effects of the heartbeat OpenSSL flaw (aka heartbleed), it makes sense for SBo maintainers and the SBo community at large to review packages offered by SBo and identify those that statically link OpenSSL libraries or bundle their own copies. An example of the latter is Node.js [1] which has already been fixed in their devel branch [2]. A semi-temporary page on SBo with a list of affected packages and mitigation steps (i.e. re-compile, upgrade version, etc.) might be useful for end-users. --mancha [1] http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.1/network/node/ [2] https://github.com/joyent/node/commit/d6fd118727 ----------------- PGP: 0x25168EB24F0B22AC [56B7 100E F4D5 811C 8FEF ADD1 2516 8EB2 4F0B 22AC] From jjalmeida at gmail.com Wed Apr 9 06:47:08 2014 From: jjalmeida at gmail.com (Jorge Almeida) Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2014 07:47:08 +0100 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] smplayer In-Reply-To: <534473C6.8000301@microlinux.fr> References: <534473C6.8000301@microlinux.fr> Message-ID: On Tue, Apr 8, 2014 at 11:10 PM, Niki Kovacs wrote: > Le 08/04/2014 23:50, Jorge Almeida a ?crit : > The Smplayer devs just decided to make a HUGE version bump from 0.8.6 to > 14.3.0. Something along those lines can help narrow down the search field especially because both Pat and SBo strip symbols (I think SBo scripts generally 'strip --strip-unneeded', right?). Otherwise something like this would have been possible: $ objdump -t | grep SSL_library_init After identifying candidates, we can worry about whether the bundled or statically-linked OpenSSLs are vulnerable or not. --mancha From yalhcru at gmail.com Sat Apr 12 06:55:37 2014 From: yalhcru at gmail.com (B Watson) Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2014 02:55:37 -0400 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] Cauterizing heartbleed (CVE-2014-0160) In-Reply-To: References: <20140409060520.70B02C0474@smtp.hushmail.com> <5344EDFB.8060402@slackbuilds.org> Message-ID: On 4/12/14, mancha wrote: > After identifying candidates, we can worry about whether the bundled > or statically-linked OpenSSLs are vulnerable or not. It looks like that is the way Nginx distributes itself, and Slack{ware,Builds.org} policy, I believe, is to not change the upstream package unless not doing so will result in the thing literally not launching or being functional on Slackware. I realise that you may be making the argument that it is not functional without being changed, and I can see what you mean. However, I use Nginx on a few different servers, and on one I do change it to match the htdocs webroot, but on others I change it to something else entirely. Bottom line is, if the SBo maintainer patches the config file for me, I'm just going to have to unpatch it later to suit however I have it set up on any given box. This is one of the things that drives me nuts about Debian and Red Hat; they change the defaults from something I'm going to have to change, to something else I'm going to have to change... tl;dr Not flaming you or disrespecting your opinion, just wondering if it's really correct to patch the config from the point of install, or whether a simple note in the README to remind the user "hey! you need to configure this!") and maybe even a link to your blogpost so that new sys admins might have some sensible example of what a good config would look like. -klaatu On 04/13/2014 05:28 AM, Doogster wrote: > Hey Larry. I've found references in Fedora, Debian and Gentoo bug reports that this project is dead. This bug you is reported at least on both Debian and Fedora, with no fix and the package is orphaned by both distributions. Gentoo dropped the package all together. As a side note, I tried that pdf on some other pdf readers: mupdf: rendered good, but if you are accustomed to gui for your view, then mupdf's cli interface maybe too spartan. qpdfview: rendered good. not as lightweight as ePDFview and uses qt instead of gtk. zathura: rendered good. very lightwieght. keyboard-centric, not point and click friendly. (personally, I like it, but I use tiling window manager and lean towards apps like this one). xpdf: rendered good. not lightweight. I've used this for a long time with no complaints. Nick, Is this the same application as epdfview? If so, I have no issues at all with it. My preferred PDF viewer is xpdf, but sometimes (I suppose depending on the application that created the .pdf file) it shows only a black rectangle where text and/or images would be. In that case I use epdfview. My third PDF viewer is acroread. Late last week I found epdfview on my laptop to be corrupted so I downloaded the subdirectory contents and executable. Rebuilding and re-installing (using upgradepkg --reinstall) fixed the problem. This shouldn't conflict with anything in /var/www. 4) Add sub-directory conf.d to /etc/nginx. This will allow to easily separate different virtual servers from the main nginx.conf file. 5) Update root directory in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf to point to the new default docroot /var/www/html. Add "include /etc/nginx/conf.d/*.conf;" to the end of /etc/nginx/nginx.conf to allow for multiple virtual server files. 6) Overall cleanup with the slackbuild. The only thing that should be noticeable to the end user is that the default index.html file that ships with nginx is now available at http://127.0.0.1 when they first start /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx. Not sure if there's a policy per se, but there's a precedent. I submitted audio/transcribe a couple years ago. It's closed source commercial software that works for 30 days only, unless you buy a license... at which point you just enter the license key in the app (no need to rebuild the slack package or reinstall). Slackware itself still has xv, closed-source image viewer, but it's fully functional (license says "Shareware, free for personal use only"). There are plenty of closed source and pay-for software packaging scripts in the SBo repository, and then there are pieces like the JDK where you have to accept a license agreement before downloading. Just don't distribute the software yourself - point to the original source and you'll be fine. --JK -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... In one of the comments one can read that there is even a possibility to "automatically" transfer the project files to SF before the closure of berlios. However this doesn't apply to the wiki, issue tracker and similar stuff. I'm new to slackware. I'd actually installed a series of slackbuilds.org packages using installpkg but then ran slackpkg a few times for other things and forgot that the *pkg command I'd been using for the SBo packages was different. It would be good if the slackpkg program handled this mistake more gracefully. The error message was misleading and had me completely stumped. Now when I type a long line in a virtual terminal the text shifts left rather than wrapping. Cursor behavior on the command line makes editing difficult. I cannot imagine what in the rvxt-unicode upgrade could cause this behavior, but that's the only system change I made recently. When I remove the rxvt-unicode package and change the vt command to rxvt from urxvt, then lines wrap as expected but I cannot correctly display UTF-8 characters. The distributed rxvt was built with multichar_languages capability (as shown with 'rxvt -h') and LANG=en_US.UTF-8 so it _should_ display accented characters, yes? The rxvt man page shows me the -km command line/compile option for multicharacter language display but I don't know which of the listed modes would be appropriate. Your help in having rxvt/urxvt correctly display multicharacter languages and wrap lines instead of shifting them is appreciated. According to this URL rxvt-unicode is based on rxvt-2.7.11, and the version on my -14.1 systems is -2.7.10. Should I upgrade rxvt to solve the problem? Well, probably not the best way to do that but in your ~/.profile you can put `export TERM="vt100"' (change with `xterm' or something else if you want, instead of the default `rxvt-unicode-256color'). I changed the default COLORTERM in ~/.bash_profile to just rxvt, sourced the file, and still could not properly display the UFT-8 test file. Next, I edited rxvt-unicode.SlackBuild to not include the perl interpreter; built and installed it. Now, setting COLORTERM back to `rxvt-unicode-256color' and the vts (including the one in which alpine runs), the UTF-8 file is readable and long command lines no longer wrap. I don't know if it was removing the perl interpreter from rxvt-unicode or just rebuilding and re-installing it, but it now again works as it did. Actually I tried, too, to just source ~/.profile after changing TERM, but it didn't worked ; I had to launch an other instance of urxvt. > Next, I edited rxvt-unicode.SlackBuild to not include the perl > interpreter; built and installed it. Interesting. I'm using the perl interpreter but I can perhaps do without, I'll see; but at least I have to try compiling without the perl interpreter too and see the results. I have Perl enabled in urxvt (and I upgraded to the latest version this morning), but horizontal-scroll-mode Off/On in .inputrc seems to work fine for me, and my TERM is set to rxvt-unicode-256color, oddly the default if I remove that line entirely seems to be Off ("normal" wrapping), but I can set it to On if I want to. Maybe it's inheriting the values from the other terminals though. Though I set it ages ago to fix the problem with lines not wrapping, so maybe changed something else at the same time that fixed it; I can't think what though. Maybe you have something different in your /etc/inputrc, or something else to do with readline? It could be worth checking what bind -v | grep horizontal says as well. -- TimP [http://hub.timp.com.au] [http://blog.timp.com.au] -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Timothy, Interesting. I've not looked at or modified /etc/inputrc or ~/.inputrc; never paid any attention to them. /etc/inputrc has nothing germane to line wrapping. ~/.inputrc has horizontal-scroll-mode set to Off; that's how it's always been. Not everyone wants or needs or uses vnc 2. To use vnc you'll need to set up a bunch of stuff for remote access I don't use vnc...my qemu VMs are just plain clean build environments I don't need vnc to view the VM on my host's monitor. If the consensus is that it should be enable by default, let me know. -Ed -- You! If the consensus is that it should be enable by default, let me know. I don't need VNC, feel that the README is clear enough and prefer the way it is now (optional). Didier
