Well, it works. For the record:

1) insert
patch -p1 < $CWD/hddtemp_0.3-beta15-52.diff
before CFLAGS=...

2) wget http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/h/hddtemp/hddtemp_0.3-beta15-52.diff.gz

3) gunzip hddtemp_0.3-beta15-52.diff.gz

4) ./hddtemp.SlackBuild
