Agreed. And let not forget that all true type font are perfectly usable
as console fonts through an fbterm, with and without a frame buffer, so
their usage is not restricted to desktop or windows managers, let alone
office applications.
And of course a build material for fbterm is available @ slackbuilds.org,

So yes, a 'fonts' category makes sense (that would include related tools,
as already mentioned).
