Hi Miguel yes, as you can see, we allow 'some' people to update their own packages directly on SBo's GIT repository, thus it's easier for us to just take their changes during public update and push it along with other changes by other maintainers. You can use this method as a start: - - clone our GIT repository and push it to public space, such as github or bitbucket or any other public git repo out there - - make a branch based on latest master branch - - make your changes on that branch - - send me your pull request and i will merge it on my branch during public update, you only need to pull master branch for updates and then rebase your branch or simply create your branch and make a new branch from updated master branch I already use this method for Dimitris and Ryan and so far, it worked :) > also, i'm assuming official really is > http://slackbuilds.org/cgit/slackbuilds/ this is just a tool to view changes happening on all branches the official git is git://slackbuilds.org/slackbuilds.git - -- Willy Sudiarto Raharjo -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iEYEARECAAYFAlQs7wkACgkQiHuDdNczM4F1ZgCbBhOkwloV0vs2ey8net6eItsj 2IEAnjYLYoM4rr5KlGmSyRY2H3nbXIkt =Bibj -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From korgie at gmail.com Fri Oct 3 07:39:28 2014 From: korgie at gmail.com (korgman) Date: Fri, 03 Oct 2014 10:39:28 +0300 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] webkitgtk - 2.4.4 link is absent Message-ID: <542E52B0.9080200@gmail.com> I used 2.4.6 version vs 2.4.4. I remember to have seen this message, and I did something to solve it. Probably I concluded that it was a dependency issue, and didn't pay much attention to it. But ultimately the package was built. As a side note, I had some issues with unison version 2.40.63 (and 2.40.65) when trying to sync with other machines. As the other problem, I don't remember the details, but what I found is that the latest upstream version 2.4.102 solves this problem. Please wait some more time and I'll check what I did to make to work around that issue. However, I noticed a few problems in the file 01-change-ocamllibdir-for-ocaml-40.patch "inlined" in the mail body. Mainly, the lines are truncated at some length, and this makes necessary some work, because if the lines are simply extracted from the email, the patch doesn't apply cleanly. I remember to have hit problems with dllunix.so. I tried to simulate them here again, but I couldn't, even reinstalling ocaml-4 again. My best bet was that it was an issue of an ongoing move from 32 to 64; probably the library which gave that error was a 32-bit version. I'm not sure about this, but it's my best guess. As a side note, I had some issues with unison version 2.40.63 (and 2.40.65) when trying to sync with other machines. As the other problem, I don't remember the details, but what I found is that the latest upstream version 2.4.102 solves this problem. I encountered this problem when trying to build and install unison (2.40.63) which has the following set of SlackBuild dependencies: ocaml (4.01.0) ocaml-findlib (1.4.1) lablgtk (2.18.0) During the unison build the following error is encountered: Error: Error on dynamically loaded library: dllunix.so: dllunix.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory where dllunix.so is located in /usr/lib64/ocaml/stublibs. Prior to the lablgtk installation the ocaml ld.conf file contained the following paths: /usr/lib64/ocaml/stublibs /usr/lib64/ocaml /usr/lib64/ocaml/site-lib/stublibs Once lablgtk is installed, ld.conf then erroneously contains only: /tmp/SBo/package-lablgtk/usr/lib64/ocaml/site-lib/lablgtk2 Manually restoring the library paths to: /usr/lib64/ocaml/stublibs /usr/lib64/ocaml /usr/lib64/ocaml/site-lib/stublibs /usr/lib64/ocaml/site-lib/lablgtk2 resolves the unison build. The required fix to the lablgtk SlackBuild would seem be to append /usr/lib64/ocaml/site-lib/lablgtk2 to the pre-existing ocaml ld.conf file. I believe the issue may be with the install portion of the ocaml-4.01.0.tar.xz package, so not sure if would be a SlackBuild configuration issue or an upstream problem. I did a Google search and saw that there's really no good, permanent, official download site to replace it with. The best source, really, is Alien Bob's. And if we're going to point the download site to Alien Bob's, then we might as well point users to his SlackBuild for it as well. My recommendation is therefore that we remove the webcore-fonts SlackBuild from SBo for the time being. Other notes: 1. I've emailed the maintainer of the official download site, and I'll post when I hear back 2. I just noticed that the webcore-fonts were part of Salix until version 14.1, where they were replaced with the Ubuntu font. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Numpy arrived at version 1.9.0 and I prepared a SlackBuild for it. Unfortunately starting with this version the compatibility layer for the old nummeric and numarray modules got dropped. At least for me this is not good, since I'm using some third party modules which still rely on it. Since this may be valid for others, I prepared and think to also submit a numpy-legacy SlackBuild for building/installing the latest version (1.8.2) which offers the compatibility layer(*). Does anything speak against this? Best regards, Serban Udrea (*) To my knowledge, one cannot install both versions of numpy at the same time. Thus there will be a conflict notice in the READMEs. It appears to me that if you are running the proprietary nvidia blob along with the matching libvdpau, or nouveau, libva is not needed. as far as I can see, there is no real advantage in prefering or using libva instead of libvdpau for Nvidia GPUs. vdpau-driver/vidio are just wrappers for translating Intel's VA API to vdpau so that Nvidia GPUs can run code using VA API. I can comfirm that the libva patch applies to 1.4.0 and 1.4.1, both of which build without wayland and wayland-scanner when given the --enable-wayland=0 configure argument. The libva-intel-driver patch applies to 1.4.0 and 1.4.1, but there is a bug in the file generation of src/Makefile (even for 1.3.2) that causes `make` to bomb. Shouldn't be hard to fix... A new Slackbuild for ocam-4.02.1 works, but this means that I'll have to provide a new Slackbuild for camlp4 which is a no longer part of the ocaml-sources but still required for some other packages (for example bisect). It seems that some of the problems with lablgtk and unison will then be fixed. Referring to Ryan P.C. It build fine here, but anything I compile with it will just segfault when it runs (gdb says it happens in glibc's init code, before the program's main() ever runs). Happens on 32-bit -current, 32-bit 14.0, and 64-bit 14.1 for me. I still have an old 13.0 box, and pcc works fine there. I suspect it works on 13.37, since that was the version it was originally submitted for. Have mailed the maintainer, not yet gotten a response (but it's only been a day, I'll be patient). Just wondering if anyone else gets the same results I do: # ulimit -c unlimited # so we get core dumps # cat hello.c #include int main(int argc, char **argv) { printf("hello world\n"); return 0; } # pcc -g -o hello hello.c # ./hello Segmentation fault (core dumped) $ gdb -c core ./hello <...> (gdb) bt #0 0x0000000000000001 in ?? Hello! Actually run tests are in my opinion important because numpy is mostly a run time dependency. To the best of my knowledge scipy and matplotlib should be OK. I'm maintaining them together with numpy. Nevertheless I sent updates of these two SlackBuilds together with the one for numpy. But there's one more problem: gajim.SlackBuild misses a licence.. So, law-technically i can't simply insert the standard licence, and can't even change something in there (at least in germany). I can mail the original author about that, but any ideas how to handle that if he doesn't answer? Maybe i should just start fresh from a template. I don't think it will be a problem since it doesn't have any license attached since the beginning. What's problematic is if the author has put a strict license and abandoned the script without any chance for other people to modify the scripts. I'm not a lawyer, so i can be wrong. Robby? Eric? any thoughts? In the template it says specifically: # A license is required, and we strongly suggest you use the above # BSD/MIT style license. We DO NOT accept "Public Domain" scripts. # Public domain is not valid in some countries, and no license is # worse than a "bad" license in those countries. That's why I've asked about that. I don't think that the original author would have problems with me maintaining the script. I think I'll just resubmit it with BSD license with the original author noted.
