Hi,

The issue has already been raised on LQ, but I think this is a better
place to discuss it. Here's the context.

Just installed a stock Slackware64 -current on a box, full installation
without KDE.

Then I built libgnomecanvas and gdm from SlackBuilds.org. Switched to
init4 to fire up GDM, logged in to Xfce, and here's what I get:

$ ck-list-sessions
Session1:
	unix-user = '0'
	realname = '(null)'
	seat = 'Seat1'
	session-type = ''
	active = TRUE
	x11-display = ':0'
	x11-display-device = '/dev/tty7'
	display-device = ''
	remote-host-name = ''
	is-local = TRUE
	on-since = '2015-12-09T10:48:45.985157Z'
	login-session-id = '4294967295'

When I remove GDM and use XDM instead, I'm getting this, as expected:

$ ck-list-sessions
Session2:
	unix-user = '1000'
	realname = 'Niki Kovacs'
	seat = 'Seat1'
	session-type = ''
	active = TRUE
	x11-display = ':0'
	x11-display-device = '/dev/tty7'
	display-device = ''
	remote-host-name = ''
	is-local = TRUE
	on-since = '2015-12-09T10:54:56.858488Z'
	login-session-id = '4294967295'

I've googled around a bit, but to no avail. If anyone has a remote idea
of how to make GDM behave under Slackware -current, I'd be grateful.

Cheers,

Niki
