I never used it myself but out of curiosity: Larry,
is it still necessary to have both BS3 and BS4
(maintained by Dimitris Zlatadadis)?
I just noticed that only the latter has pysetuptools as
dependency according to the README.

In particular, would the package that you maintain work
with BS4 (not BS3) installed?

Again, just curious.
