as it seems it's upgraded very often and spotify people has the bad
habit of removing the just-superseded downloads, I feel like
suggesting to self host the debs, so that the package on SBo doesn't
break at every update...



You have brought that point up before, but that adds another layer of
activity to updating the build ...

It's easy enough to either update the build manually or grab the latest
version under sbosrcarch:

http://slackware.uk/sbosrcarch/by-name/multimedia/spotify/

Let's keep in mind that although the team has been updating Spotify often
lately, they have also went years without updating it.
