In fact, xclip moved to github https://github.com/astrand/xclip and
there is now a new version 0.13 (0.12 was produced in 2010).  I wrote to
maintainer Grigorios Bouzakis but his address returned "User unknown"
error.  If nobody is interested in maintaining xclip I could take care
of it.
