Using locate that package showed up as well as an executable script in /var/log/scripts/. Removed both files. I don't think think I've ever had an entry remain in /var/log/packages after using removepkg for that package (unless more than one version was installed). My worry is that the package might still be installed and you just removed the references to what files are installed to the system. How can you be sure the package were removed? Did you really check that the files listed in the records in /var/log/packages were removed? 1. If yes that would be the first time I hear of such an issue with removepkg. Frankly, I really doubt it happened. 2. If no you just made the installed packages not manageable, i.e. you broke your system. Message-ID: <455a4b98-9deb-d012-940a-1464c06f14bd@web.de> Hi everyone, I recently ran across what looks like a small bug in OpenCASCADE's cmake scripts, for example the one in /usr/lib64/cmake/opencascade/OpenCASCADEFoundationClassesTargets-release.cmake It seems to me like ${OCCT_INSTALL_BIN_LETTER} should not be in there, for example in line 11: IMPORTED_LOCATION_RELEASE "${_IMPORT_PREFIX}/lib64\${OCCT_INSTALL_BIN_LETTER}/libTKernel.so.7.3.0" This caused compilation errors for me when I tried installing FreeCAD 0.18.4 on -current, but the files look the same on 14.2. I'm not sure where the blame lies - OpenCASCADE upstream, our packaging of OpenCASCADE or FreeCAD's searching for OpenCASCADE are my candidates. Cheers, Heiko JFTR: Adding -DOCCT_CMAKE_FALLBACK=ON to FreeCAD's cmake option helps FreeCAD compile - no idea about other software that might also depend on OpenCASCADE. -- eMails verschl?sseln mit PGP - privacy is your right! As mentioned, i personally take PR from Github or MR from Gitlab, but it only applies to updating your own scripts and not for new scripts as it must be submitted via submission form so that it will be indexed by our infrastructure at SBo. At that time I updated the opencv.SlackBuild for version 4.3.0 on the basis that the gmic maintainer would update gmic's SlackBuild accordingly. I have now updated opencv to 4.5.0 and found that the SlackBuild for gmic still hasn't been updated. For those needing to build gmic with the latest opencv, the changes required for gmic.SlackBuild are as follows: 1. change the line: make -C src cli lib libc WGET=/bin/true LIBS=${LDFLAGS} -j1 to now be: make -C src cli lib libc WGET=/bin/true LIBS=${LDFLAGS} OPT_CFLAGS="$SLKCFLAGS " -j1 2. change the line: SLKCFLAGS="-O0 -fPIC -fno-fast-math" (under "elif [ "$ARCH" = "x86_64" ]; then") to now be: SLKCFLAGS="-O3 -fPIC" Presumably the other architectures could probably also be changed to -O3 but I haven't looked at that yet. Further, gmic's README states that opencv should not be built with qt5 installed. This is no longer correct and should be removed from the README. chris From zhu.qunying at gmail.com Mon Oct 19 18:21:14 2020 From: zhu.qunying at gmail.com (Qun-Ying) Date: Mon, 19 Oct 2020 11:21:14 -0700 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] i3 4.8.2 regression Message-ID: Hi, I3 4.8.2 has a regression that the programs in system tray will be closed if in-place re-run the wm or running for sometime and switching virtual desktops. README? No speak English. :-( My bad. No, I didn't read it. And yes, it compiled nicely after removing the previous version. Thanks for the quick reply. I have been lulled into a false sense of security because "sbocheck ; sboupdate ..." has been so automatic. The fact it works so well is, I guess, both a good thing and a bad thing. I know from experience that trying to build a new fontforge without following this advice causes a build failure. A question for the maintainer: Why doesn't the SlackBuild check for this and abort or at least warn the user? It could be done with very little code, and would have saved however much time we've collectively spent thinking and writing about it, in this thread. An interpreted language provides branch? ing and high-level control structures to direct the dialogue. In addition, the user can take control and interact directly when desired, afterward returning con? trol to the script. In my mind it's no worse than having to download jdk etc. source manually to build it. Just because it's an inconvenience for build tools is no reason to try to bypass what the developers are trying their hardest to have people read, and there may be good reason for someone to *want* to read it to understand if they agree and want to continue to install it, or not, as the case may be. URL: From jebrhansen+SBo at gmail.com Sun Oct 25 00:02:55 2020 From: jebrhansen+SBo at gmail.com (Jeremy Hansen) Date: Sat, 24 Oct 2020 18:02:55 -0600 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] Add Autodetect to ffmpeg for Optional Dependencies Message-ID: Heinz, I'm a bit frustrated that the developers of ffmpeg don't have autodetect in their ./configure. Your script has definitely helped improve building ffmpeg, but even with that, it is quite inconvenient to have to pass all those VARs to the SlackBuild script (and for users of SBo building programs to figure out how to pass those variables to the program). So I decided to add autodetection for those packages into the SlackBuild script itself and update the variables passed to the ./configure based on that autodetection. pkg-config is used for most of them, but there's 7 programs that don't support it, so I just checked for that program's header file. Now users would just need to disable any optional features if they have the packages installed but don't want that support in ffmpeg. I've also updated the README to reflect the change and bumped the build number. The only thing that might need tweaking is the length of the lines doing the autodetection. They go well beyond the soft 72 character limit on a single line (all of them are over 100 characters and the longest is 186 characters). I started going through and breaking them up, but there are some unique lines that don't have a natural break before the 72 character point. Feel free to make any adjustments if you feel they're necessary. Hopefully you'll agree that this would be a beneficial change to the SlackBuild and switch things over. Let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions. Jeremy (aka bassmadrigal on the LQ forum) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I think it'd actually be OK to add an environment variable EULA=agree or such, defaulting to off. The user's only required to read the EULA *once*, not every time he has to rebuild/reinstall the package (possibly on a different Slackware box than the first time). Set the variable and it skips the EULA (by whatever means). This will especially helpful to the maintainer of the package, who might have to run the script multiple times while developing/testing it. Also, if it doesn't already do so, it would be nice to include a copy of the EULA as e.g. /usr/doc/$PRGNAM-$VERSION/EULA.txt in the package. That's a fair point. Perhaps a more specific name for the variable to the equivalent of ${PRGNAM}_EULA would be the way to go, in case more crop up in the future and we need to distinguish between them. -- Dave Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath. I'm sorry but I won't be doing anything about that on the aqbanking side (I'm the maintainer there) because downgrading aqbanking to a version that works with kmymoney <= 5.0.6 will break German online banking. My suggestion would be an upgrade of kmymoney to a version >=5.0.7: https://kmymoney.org/changelogs/kmymoney-5-0-7-release-notes.html But I don't know how much effort that would be. The actual change to aqbanking is here: https://github.com/aqbanking/aqbanking/commit/88e9aec56212286be052da017f23eb0108500eb6 or thereabouts. I'm sorry but I'm not ready to try and revert that back out. As an alternative, someone can try creating an aqbanking5-Slackbuild and a matching version of gwenhywfar. I can provide what I used a year ago, but I'm not ready to maintain it. Or provide a version of kmymoney building without aqbanking support. I don't know kmymoney, so I can't say if that would make any sense.
