The other possibility: if installpkg gets interrupted with ^C, it
might leave the /installpkg-<blah> stuff lying around just because it
got killed before it could remove it.

Not sure if that can happen when installpkg runs out of disk space. In
general it doesn't really handle running out of space gracefully
though.
