[Slackbuilds-users] slapt-src discovery

Please do not use slapt-src --upgrade. It seems to have the same effect as as
slapt-src --upgrade-all and replace all packages available through SBo already
included in Slint, 127 at time of writing. Please do not do that, this would
make your Slint a mess.

If already done you can correct it typing:

slapt-get -u
slapt-get --upgrade

This will reinstall the packages shipped in Slint.

As stated in the HandBook in:
https://slint.fr/doc/HandBook.html#slapt_src

do not use -U except to list the possible upgrades or downgrades, without
confirming: confirming would lead to replace all Slint packages by one at
another version if available in the remote repository, possibly breaking
software not compatible with this other version.

Rule of thumb: Only use slapt-src to build and install individual packages not
available through slapt-get

To request that package a available through slap-get be upgraded, please post in
the Slint mailing list rather than in this one, stating the reason. "A new
version is available" is generally not a sufficient reason. <smile>

Cheers,
Didier
