I submitted this bug report and fix to the listed maintainer of the Vagrant slackbuild, but in his reply he stated he was no longer maintaining the package.

I stopped maintaining my Slackbuilds almost 3 years ago. I did announce it on the public list at the time but many packages are still technically under my name. Feel free to submit an update.
