Before I convey the message on LQ I just checked in an up to date
Slackware64-current, including the package
shared-mime-info-2.4-x86_64-1
typing as root:
/usr/bin/update-mime-database /usr/share/mime
and after that found all files in /usr/share/mime/application
being 0644.

Am I the only one, or did I misunderstand something again?

Cheers,
Didier
