My original post was more about the script itself, Google's release of go-1.26 was just what prompted me to look into it in the first place. After I refactored the SlackBuild, it's now relatively trivial for me to build any version I want. Besides, nothing on SBo strictly requires go-1.26.

Well, maybe except ollama, although its maintainer isn't very keen on providing latest and greatest, but they do chug out releases often enough to be annoying for package maintainers. But I have my own repository of build scripts, so it's not an issue for me.
