</span>There's a strong reason why we keep the ffmpeg version in the SBo<br>
repository and update it only when a new Slackware gets released.<br>
<br>
ffmpeg is used by many packages, both as mandatory and optional deps and<br>
newer version *may* break some packages, so we need to make sure<br>
everything is OK with the new update.<br>
<br>
As other have said, you have all you need to update the version for your<br>
own system. The scripts and source are available from SBo repository and<br>
the upstream site.<br>
