That would be fairly useless without versioning information (e.g.
libsomething >= 1.0). And nailing down versioned dependencies takes a lot
of time and testing, since it requires that the person writing a
SlackBuild has to try all the different combinations. And before you know,
the attractive simplism of SlackBuilds (and binary packages) are gone.
SlackBuilds give the power to the user. E.g. if you track some packages,
you could write a simple script that builds stuff in the order you want it
:). After all, in the end the person using the build script will know
better how a package is going to be used in a particular set-up than the
person who wrote the script.
