Greetings,

Recently I decided to test Opera 9.64 (from slackbuilds.org). I could not get the Flash plugin (from slackbuilds.org) to function in Opera. The plugin functions fine in Firefox 3.10. I found a discussion about the problem at LQ:

https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/slackware-flashplayer-10-on-slackware-12.2-and-opera-9.63-692295/

The remedy that finally succeeded for me is in post No. 14:

https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?p=3523646#post3523646

I posted my gratitude and comments in post No. 16:

The point to all of this is the Opera and Flash build script commentations imply that Flash should "just work" with Opera. This was not the case for me and apparently some others too.

As I mentioned in my LQ post, I found no package that creates these sym links. I don't know why the build scripts succeed for some people and fails for others.

Perhaps a check in a doinst.sh will resolve the problem. Create the sym links if they are missing.

I'm not a a member of this list. You can contact me by email or at the LQ thread.

I hope this helps.

Thanks again.
