Gmail seems to be handling the load so far.

I agree, though, the obfuscation of email addresses is presumably quite 
easy to thwart, if you're into that sort of thing. I'm afraid I don't 
have any idea as to how to avoid it, bar some JavaScript I once found 
which would dynamically generate the mailto: from a couple of arguments...
