looking around I found on the archlinux repository this patch

http://repos.archlinux.org/wsvn/packages/easytag/trunk/mp4v2-1.9.patch

that will let you build an easytag 2.1.6, the latest development 
version, with mp4v2 support.

the bad news are that the 2.1.6 was released two years ago. :(
