The one reason I haven't tried chrome is

"GConf is a configuration database system, functionally similar to the
Windows registry."

And now I am convinced it should be purged from both Slackware and SBo.
Anything mentioning "Windows Registry" gives me a rash in my nether
regions.  'Twas Winders that drove me to Slackware...
