I dug up my most extravagant .tex and I'm running into a problem with 
biblatex. 

A bit of research brought me to these two reports of the same issue:

The biblatex.sty from the SlackBuild for 20130530 has the following biblatex 
version:

\def\abx at date{2013/05/01}
\def\abx at version{2.6}

The fix apparently arrives with biblatex 2.8 (released 2013/10/26) in case 
there's a chance of getting it into 2013. Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy with 
last year's TexLive!
