   My friend needs to use Skype for a course so I installed from
(along with the multilib libraries, of course). It won't run. Eric's blog
from last June notes that M$ dropped ALSA support from Skype in favor of
their PulseAudio.

   Assuming that I install pulseaudio-5.0 from SBo (plus the two
dependencies), could we expect Skype to work?

 You could also try apulse if you do not need all of the pulseaudio stuff?
Its sole purpose is to enable skype to run without pusleaudio like so:

  $ apulse skype

Although on multilib, this will actually be:

  $ apulse32 skype

On the next release of apulse there will only be one binary, but for now 32
and 64 bit are separate.

Good luck!

   Has anyone experience with Skype on 14.1 with Xfce, or advice to share
with us?
