Hello Nikolaou,

this is something that others already asked me.

I’m aware of newer than 1.00 versions of Terminator and I’ve been
informed that it builds ok with only a version bump on -current, however
I’d prefer to wait a little time before updating the version of
Terminator on SBo.

My motives are the following:

  *

as you probably know, the 1.9x versions are *beta* releases for the
GTK3 port that should become the new stable when version 2.0 will be
    released (see the announcement
    <https://launchpad.net/terminator/+announcement/14358>);

  *

given that also GTK3 is a fast moving target with major releases
having already broken backwards compatibility more than once, I
guess that waiting a little bit more will bring no harm.

Having said this, I’m really glad that it builds good on -current with
no work on the current script (apart the version bump), however keep in
mind that SlackBuilds on SBo are targeted to *stable* versions of
Slackware only <https://slackbuilds.org/faq/#version>.

Kindest regards

Alan Alberghini
