From willysr at slackbuilds.org Sat Jun 1 00:24:42 2019 From: willysr at slackbuilds.org (Willy Sudiarto Raharjo) Date: Sat, 1 Jun 2019 07:24:42 +0700 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] Updates - 20190601 Message-ID: Hi, There has been a package renaming on this batch openjdk is now removed and replaced by openjdk7 to reflect the version used since we have version 7 and 8 on our repository. All scripts that depends on openjdk has been updated to switch to openjdk7 in our repository. We also removed some python3- scripts since the original python2-based scripts now supports python3 as well, so it will be easier to move them into a single place. Unfortunately, we missed a package during this changes, which is python3-Flask. It should be updated to Jinja2 instead of python3-Jinja2 package. This has caused python3-MarkupSafe and python3-Jinja2 couldn't be removed from the database as of now. This is a self-reminder for admins to remove python3-MarkupSafe and python3-Jinja2 for next public update. SlackBuild for Jinja2 reads: python2 setup.py install --root=$PKG python3 setup.py install --root=$PKG Similar for MarkupSafe: CFLAGS="$SLKCFLAGS" \ python2 setup.py install --root=$PKG --no-compile CFLAGS="$SLKCFLAGS" \ python3 setup.py install --root=$PKG --no-compile Obviously both will fail when python3 binary is not available in the system. Shouldn't installation for Python3 be conditional? For example, this is the way it's handled in some scripts: if $(python3 -c 'import sys' 2>/dev/null); then python3 setup.py install --root=$PKG fi I think there is no real technical reason for hard python3 dependency in these scripts. They used to work well with just python2 - up to now. It was in 2003 that I switched from Red Hat to Slackware and it was probably soon after SBo became available that I started using it rather than sourceforge and the other repository whose name I forget. Although the setup.py detects a python3 installation and does its own conversion of its code, it misses out processing the docutils directory for some reaason. My initial workaround has been to do a conversion manually i.e. place the line: 2to3 --write --no-diffs docutils into docutils.SlackBuild AFTER the first 'python setup.py install --root=$PKG' but BEFORE the following 'python3 setup.py install --root=$PKG'. This solution "works for me" (solving the same problem which had been triggered when building python-netaddr). I haven't suggested it previously because I did notice some warnings/errors when the processed code was being compiled. Another solution is to run 2to3 only on the file mentioned in the error message i.e. 2to3 --write --no-diffs docutils/__init.py which also worked for me but made me worry about other unconverted code in the docutils directory. chris From mrvladislavovich at gmail.com Mon Jun 10 02:13:11 2019 From: mrvladislavovich at gmail.com (MyRequiem) Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2019 06:13:11 +0400 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] Updates - 20190608.1 In-Reply-To: References: <26a0d31d-0b87-6041-a1e3-b14ecbe4dbd0@slackbuilds.org> <0dba9019-dd54-4fac-b5e1-e8ffe14f8c5f@www.fastmail.com> Message-ID: <20190610021311.GA2927@slack.myrequiem.net> Hi Christoph, Yes, it works: docutils.SlackBuild --------------------------------------- python setup.py install --root=$PKG 2to3 --write --no-diffs docutils python3 setup.py install --root=$PKG --------------------------------------- Thank you very much :) From psychi2009 at gmail.com Mon Jun 10 06:51:01 2019 From: psychi2009 at gmail.com (MDrights) Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2019 14:51:01 +0800 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] weechat build issues Message-ID: <20190610065101.GA9303@liveslak> Hi guys, I found weechat build failure for a couple of times recently on a couple of my Slackware 14.2 VMs (even a very fresh built vm). I upgraded to mailman-2.1.29 last night, and I omitted the --with-cgi-gid flag when doing configure. However, openshot requires python-requests, which requires python-certifi, which had python3 support removed last month and put into a separate python3-certifi package.? So openshot just bails out with a missing certifi module if you follow the requirements set out in the .info files. I got around this by installing the prior build of python-certifi, but installing python3-certifi probably works as well. Thanks, Kent. It all builds and runs fine now. There's a slight hitch in that python3-certifi doesn't require python3 in it's .info file - I've emailed the maintainer about it so it should be fixed soon. Until then, any build queue calculators may not generate a correct queue. Luckily, I followed my own advice (in openshot/README) to just load python3 before anything else, so it worked despite the slightly dodgy build queue. chris From ricardo at palmtx.com.ar Fri Jun 21 23:24:18 2019 From: ricardo at palmtx.com.ar (Ricardo J. First of all, can some admin delete git-cola.tar.gz from the pending queue? I sent it after testing in my (heavily modified) Slackware install but compiling in a stock Slackware gave me a lot of trouble, so I'll have to re-test it. Thanks. I think my problems come from the fact that git-cola defaults to python3, so every Sphinx dependency needs to be (re-)compiled with python3 support, which is pretty much a must since MarkupSafe actually requires python3. On the road, I found that babel and python3-babel are at different versions but both download an unversioned core.zip file. Both slackbuilds link core.zip to cldr/core-$CLDRVER.zip, with a different value for CLDRVER. Maybe they could move it instead of linking it? If you compile babel you have to remove that file from e.g. the sbopkg cache before compiling python3-babel. Another one that bit me: docutils keeps failing with python3, I added '2to3 --write --no-diffs docutils' to the slackbuild but that makes it pretty slow to compile. Anyway, I can email the corresponding maintainers about the issues I found, probably will do so this weekend, but wanted to let you guys know. Thanks for listening :) -- Ricardo J. We don't want to move the source files in the script, so I don't think this is an option. > If you compile babel you have to remove that file from e.g. the sbopkg cache > before compiling python3-babel. sbopkg prompts for this when the md5sums don't match. I've had to do this once or twice already on some of my servers - and all I can remember is that it turned into a bit of a nightmare sorting out the dependencies - specially a version of ffmepg which would work with Motion properly but also compile on Slackware without complaints. If you're a looking for the missing patch you can find it in slackware- current/source/t/texlive/patches/texlive-20190410-source- upstream_fixes-1.patch. The two current patches in office/texlive can be safely removed.
