There is no ETA for the next Slackware release, as far as I know. Anyway, considering that no beta has been announced yet, I would not bet for anything sooner than "in several months". About a more recent GTK3, I would need that to upgrade the MATE desktop in Slint, but I can wait. What comes to my mind in the first place is SourceForge. I kinda don't like it all that much, because it's not responsive quite often (relatively). On the plus side is that I already have an account there. If there's nothing much better, then SF be it. But I would like to ask you for your suggestions. I don't take github into account, because I want to share just plain source code tarball. I will NOT spent time on importing the source code and then tagging it or whatever. However, if there is an easy way of just sharing the tarball, and also if it can be compatible with _sbopkg_ and other tools (when it comes to file names), then I would be happy to use it. I noticed that the project moved to github, with releases on sourceforge under the name denyhost instead of denyhosts (which only has up to 2.6). It is currently at 3.1 This email is sent to the list, as I haven't had a response from the maintainer (Doug) directly so I don't know if he is still around. ( I did create a patch for 2.6 to add slackware defaults and rc.denyhosts, but having spotted the newer versions which move one of the config files to /etc/ I could update the patch for version 3.1 if anyone is interested.) regards, Tim From willysr at slackbuilds.org Wed May 29 04:40:30 2019 From: willysr at slackbuilds.org (Willy Sudiarto Raharjo) Date: Wed, 29 May 2019 11:40:30 +0700 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] denyhosts In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: > this is a request for an update to the denyhosts slackbuild version, > which is very old. I think it's also nice to know that there are alternative ACME clients that do not rely on Python. One such is "dehydrated", which is implemented in Bash. There's even a SlackBuild: https://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.2/system/dehydrated/ I'm not sure if the official documentation has improved any since I first used it. If not, I wrote up a how-to guide (with emphasis on Slackware) which might be helpful if anyone wants to try it: https://ratfactor.com/slackware/dehydrated/ (I recently updated dehydrated and implemented it using my own guide, so it all still works.) Awesome, I see now that there's no less than TWO shell script ACME clients on slackbuilds.org! I haven't personally tried this one: https://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.2/network/acme.sh/ -Dave Gauer
