If you search for e.g. "@schoepfer" you'll get only one set of hits (from email address field). I guess it'll happen whenever maintainer's name is also in their email address. Attached is a SlackBuild for OpenSMTPD 6.0.3p1-5 with new security patches for Slackware 14.2. The source code for OpenSMTPD can be downloaded from https://www.opensmtpd.org/archives/ https://www.opensmtpd.org/archives/opensmtpd-6.0.3p1.tar.gz The source for libasr is there too. https://www.opensmtpd.org/archives/libasr-1.0.4.tar.gz Hopefully this will be fixed soon. While werkzeug-0.16.1 is backward-compatible with previous versions, it introduces some deprecation warnings regarding Python imports. Version 1.0.0 is going to break backward compatibility. [1] Actually werkzeug-1.0.0. has been released yesterday, but I don't want to update before I'm sure nothing will be broken. These are the packages that directly depeng on werkzeug: python/Flask python/odoo python/python-klein python/python3-Flask system/letsencrypt There are also some packages that optionally depend on werkzeug, such as multimedia/beets (I know because I use that one, but I don't know the full list of optional reverse dependencies). I would like to kindly ask the maintainers of SlackBuilds that depend on werkzeug to verify if everything is working with werkzeug-0.16.1 before I consider updating to 1.0.0. I imagine that breaking letsencrypt or Flask would make many people very unhappy. We'll have to roll vdpauinfo back to 1.1.1 for 14.2 until current is released. OR you can upgrade 14.2 to libvdpau-1.3, OR use the libvpau that ships with nvidia drivers, which was the case before Slackware added libvdpau. Either way, I'll revert the change. -Ed -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Usually I dig a little bit to find out a solution, but in this case it seems that the set of patches delivered doesn't match this specific version of the source code, giving multiple errors when applied. As all of them seem to be Debian's content, there should be some kind of weirdness here. If possible, I would like to hear if this happens only to me or if someone else experienced such problems. Depending on the update, some might require rebuilding programs that depend on it. For a really simplistic example, if ffmepg was updated in the repo from v3 to v4, it is likely that all programs that depend on ffmpeg's .so files would require rebuilding. But many of the compilation programs that support SBo don't try and detect that (it can be filled with updates that are perfectly interchangable with their older versions) and will only present you ffmpeg to update and not any of the other programs that rely on ffmepg and need to be rebuilt. You may want to simply try rebuilding python3-sip and then python3-PyQt5 and see if compilation of qgis works at that point. The advanced search on SBo website now does that too. HooRex outputs its list of dependents in build order and these days I just rebuild/reinstall them all (well, those that I'm interested in). I don't bother wondering about which dependent packages may or may not be affected by some update - sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not. It seems tedious to do all that rebuilding but it's just a matter of feeding the list to your favourite package builder. E.g. it dos not understand abs(p_in->format.i_height); May be it knows plain old C? Does it understand abs((int)p_in->format.i_height); Hurray it does. This little change applied twice in one line was all it took to make vlc build on Slackware current. Dont mention those 64 required packages with some 16 of them having similar hickups. If there is no maintainer for vlc I'll grab it but I have to learn how to write and apply a patch for the slackbuild first. Here is my patch for vlc/vlc-3.0.8/modules/video_filte/opencv_wrapper.c I got it working on 32 bit Slackware current. It's easy to make a simple typo e.g. >> vlc/vlc-3.0.8/modules/video_filte/opencv_wrapper.c Anyway, I've checked that the change is harmless in 14.2 so I'm happy to include it if Matteo's testing in -current works out OK. Thus, it is up for grabs. Please be aware that Nvidia plans no further released past 304.137. nvidia-legacy340 is now at 340.108 (thanks mats!). Nvidia plans no further updates. I will submit a final update for nvidia-legacy390 (390.132) and mark it unmaintained. Nvidia plans support through end of 2022. Nvidia's "Support timeframes for Unix legacy GPU releases" https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3142/ Finally, I will update nvidia-{driver,kernel} to 440.59 and keep maintenance until someone wishes to take over and sends me the author/email information for the .info file. It's been a fun (?) love/hate relationship with these nvidia buildscripts. These were my first contribution to SBo in 2011. I dunno about a dummy package, we've successfully avoided those so far. Problem you're having is, some builds use the wx-config command to get the version, library path, etc. And wx-config will always give the info for the most-recently-installed version. /usr/bin/wx-config is actually a symlink to e.g. /usr/lib64/wx/config/gtk2-unicode-release-2.8 (for wxGTK3, the version number is different). And whichever package was installed last, creates the symlink. It would have been *really* nice if the wx devs had put the version number in the symlink filename (e.g. wx-config2 vs. wx-config3), but they didn't. There are a couple ways around this, if build maintainers are willing to use them. Essentially what's required is to NOT trust /usr/bin/wx-config to point to the version of wx that we want. Every build that uses wx-config will have *some* way to override it (even if it's "sed or patch the Makefile"). So every wx-using script should force the build system to use the desired script in /usr/lib64/wx/config/. Currently, the only possibilities with SBo's various wx* builds are: /usr/lib$LIBDIRSUFFIX/wx/config/gtk2-unicode-release-2.8 /usr/lib$LIBDIRSUFFIX/wx/config/gtk2-unicode-3.0 So whichever version of wx is required by your script, use whatever mechanism the authors provided to override the wx-config command, and set it to the appropriate value from the list above. It'd be polite to allow a user override via the environment, also. For most builds, only one or the other version will work. So it's a simple thing. From vbam.SlackBuild: WXCONF=${WXCONF:-/usr/lib$LIBDIRSUFFIX/wx/config/gtk2-unicode-3.0} vbam uses cmake, so later in the script "-DwxWidgets_CONFIG_EXECUTABLE=$WXCONF" is passed as a cmake argument. The user can set WXCONF in the environment to override the default, if he's got some reason to want to do that. What I do in sooperlooper is maybe overly complex: WXVER=${WXVER:-2.8} WXMAYBE="$( ls /usr/lib$LIBDIRSUFFIX/wx/config/*-$WXVER 2>/dev/null | head -1 )" WXCONFIG=${WXCONFIG:-$WXMAYBE} WXCONFIG=${WXCONFIG:-/usr/bin/wx-config} ...then later in the script, --with-wxconfig-path=$WXCONFIG is passed to ./configure. So what does this do? It uses 2.8 by default, but it allows the user to override it in the environment, either setting WXVER to the version number, or WXCONFIG to the full path to the wx-config script (e.g. WXCONFIG="/usr/lib64/wx/config/gtk2-unicode-release-2.8"). The silliness about ls|head -1 is because (in theory anyway) you might have multiple builds of 2.8 (unicode and non-unicode), though this should never happen if you're sticking with SBo packages only. The last line is a fallback: if it can't find any 2.8 script to use in the standard location, it'll use wx-config from $PATH. Which will be the one from 3.0, if you have only 3.0 installed. All the above is because sooperlooper is capable of being built with either version of wx* (2.8 or 3.0), but 2.8 is preferred (at least, other distros were using it, when I last checked). The *other* thing that would work: either version of wx-config will give correct info for either version of wx, if the --version= argument is passed to it. For whatever reason, upstream authors never seem to actually *do* this in their (configure|cmake|Makefile|whatever). You might try telling it to use "wx-config --version=2.8" (or 3.0, whichever the build actually needs). This can be a PITA due to quoting rules making it difficult to include spaces in arguments... Looks like they update often enough that your build will spend more time broken than it will working: we only update weekly on Saturday, meaning if they update on Monday or Tuesday, and you notice right away and send an update for your script... by the time your updated script hits the SBo site (on Saturday), the white_dune devs may have already removed the source for your update. It turns out that the compilation error is `error: invalid use of incomplete type 'class QButtonGroup'` and, by looking for solutions on the web, I stumbled upon a github issue [1] with a patch for another project that basically just adds the `QButtonGroup` header inclusion in the affected source file. I then tried applying a similar change to scantailor sources (patch attached): the build went flawlessly and the program seems to be working ok, although I did not throughly test it yet. Started with /sbin/removepkg tetex and tetex-doc During SBo build, in configure, am getting messages: "checking requested system xxx library... failed" where xxx = gd, pixman, cairo, gmp, mpfr, icu ... followed by full stop. Any advice for debugging this? As near as I can tell, these should all be installed with Slack 14.2. My /etc/ld.so.conf lists all the appropriate lib64 directories. For cairo, at least, pkg-config seems to generate the right include and link flags. The web site, www.jabref.org, has snapshots available for JabRef-5.0, the development version. I found a bug in the previous snapshot and made the devs aware of it. Today's snapshot fixes that bug. I've two recommendations to offer: 1) Remove JabRef from SBo because untarring the latest (2020-02-24) *portable_linux.tar.gz in /opt (or /usr/local if you prefer) installs JabRef/ with two subdirectories: bin/ and lib/. The bin/ subdirectory has an executable JabRef* which invokes the application. (I do so with a shell script.) 2) Update the SBo version to today's snapshot and remove the JDK requirement. Now JabRef5 works with Slackware-14.2/x86_64 (probably the 32-bit version, too) and I can get rid of kbibtex. So we have 3 paths to choose from. I'm the youtube-viewer SBo maintainer, I could just pick one, but I'd like to get some input from the community. 1. Require every user to register with google and get an API key, and pass it to the SlackBuild (e.g. as environment variables). 2. Include an API key of our own. This key could also be used for other things that need one, e.g. Pafy. 3. The youtube-viewer author is working on a thing called straw-viewer that uses an alternate API (invidio.us) that doesn't require any sort of API key. It otherwise looks & acts like youtube-viewer. So I could just ditch youtube-viewer entirely. Option 1 would be fine, but it would mean I'd step down as maintainer of youtube-viewer. I won't be creating an API key, and so won't have a way to test new versions of it. For option 2, it's not really a bad idea for there to be an 'official' SlackBuilds.org Google API key. But I'm not going to be the one to register for it (prefer to minimize "relationships" with corporate entities when I can). So, anyone want to step up and do this? You wouldn't have to become maintainer of anything: I'd include your key in the youtube-viewer build. Option 3, I'm already working on. There will be a straw-viewer SlackBuild very soon. Initial testing shows it works well. It doesn't necessarily have to replace youtube-viewer in our repo, either, so option 1 or 2 could still apply. At this point users should apply for api key. Regards, Ozan > > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
