Issues ? Panel Plugins / xfce4-docklike-plugin ? GitLab Hi, I encountered a problem using docklike plugin on AlmaLinux OS 9.2. I cannot pin Thunderbird icon on the bar (see the attachment) gitlab.xfce.org I can tell you how I fixed it when I get the problem. The first thing is to open the program, suppose Thunderbird. Then, from the terminal, give the command: xlsclients | grep thunderbird You will see a result like this: slack64 thunderbird-default "slack64" is the name of my PC, while "thunderbird-default" is what the Thunderbird window is called. Now you need to copy the Thunderbird desktop file to your local directory and rename it with the name you just displayed, with the command: cp /usr/share/applications/mozilla-thunderbird.desktop ~/.local/share/applications/thunderbird-default.desktop At this point you should be able to add the Thunderbird icon to the dock. This works for me, I hope it works for you too. @Matteo Bernardini, please verify that the email address you wrote to me is incorrect, fortunately I am subscribed to the maling-list and read the message. ________________________________ Da: SlackBuilds-users per conto di Alessandro Baggi Inviato: marted? 1 agosto 2023 18:33 A: mlavorini at outlook.com Cc: slackbuilds-users at slackbuilds.org Oggetto: Re: [Slackbuilds-users] xfce4-docklike-plugin icon problem Hi Marco, I've installed xfce4-docklike-plugin and added docklike to a panel. The scripts are setup to fail on 32bit and I'd like to know if it'd be possible for me to use the $DOWNLOAD for the aarch64 files, so I don't have to omit a otherwise working script for the platform I mostly use. As-is this works with the tool "sboui" on my machines and automatically gets the $DOWNLOAD on aarch64 and the correct one on x86_64 as well. Would it be acceptable to have the script itself fail on 32bit rather than marking $DOWNLOAD=unsupported so we can offer support for the aarch64 platform? Side note: is there any future plans to add a $DOWNLOAD_AARCH64 to the .info? Thanks, -Jay From urchlay at slackware.uk Thu Aug 3 19:39:15 2023 From: urchlay at slackware.uk (B. I'm not sure when exactly this started, but it must have been sometime since last Sunday. Most Rust-based SlackBuilds are affected. Crates are also available from https://static.crates.io/crates, which is doing fine. As a bonus, downloads from there seem to be considerably faster. I plan on changing my info files over for the next update (ncspot, bottom, hyperfine, onefetch). In the meantime, 's|crates-io.s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com|static.crates.io|g' is an option if an unavailable crate is needed urgently. Issue #2 In the build step the Slackbuild expects to find the directory "Waybar-0.9.20" in the EXTRACTED tar ball. The easiest temporary workaround I found was to change line 71 in waybar.Slackbuild from: tar xvf $CWD/$SRCNAM-%VERSION.tar.gz to tar xvf $CWD/waybar-%VERSION.tar.gz ? I've updated this on my branch. I might have broken this actually when I approved the submission. I think I missed the capitalisation while looking at. Using https://github.com/Alexays/Waybar/archive/0.9.20/Waybar-0.9.20.tar.gz works with clients that respect the content disposition header (which I used while testing the submission) and those that don't, both resulting in Waybar-0.9.20.tar.gz. The exploded tarball also always has an uppercase 'W' and is handled by the slackbuild as is. Cheers, Andrew -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... In the build script, it runs ./compile before going through cmake and its options. However, what ./compile does is actually running cmake with its own options and then run make with the -j6 flag. On -stable that seems to work and therefore continues to run cmake with the default slackware flags and the flags added in the script, and run make again, effectively compiling labplot2 twice, including once with -j6 which could be problematic on some systems. For some reason, on -current, trying to make without the -DENABLE_READSTAT=OFF flag provided to cmake, the compilation fails. That flag is added to the cmake options in the slackbuild but not in the ./compile script which the script runs first. Here is a patch to fix that issue. Hope this helps Cheers Greg -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Slackware's python-markdown package provides markdown_py for Python 3.9, whereas SBo's Markdown package provides markdown_py for Python 2.7. For me I just reinstalled Slackware's package.? I build SBo packages in a chroot so I could probably just remove Markdown from my system (I'm guessing it's a build-time dependency only for SBo packages to build docs?). > > Erich Sorry, I just noticed it was announced back on July 8 that Markus was giving up his scripts (including Markdown): https://lists.slackbuilds.org/pipermail/slackbuilds-users/2023-July/028377.html So currently Markdown is an orphaned script. On those boxes, I patch the .info to setup the ARM or AARCH64 source, it works only for me and myself. If we had optional DOWNLOAD_ARM/MD5SUM_ARM and DOWNLOAD_AARCH64/MD5SUM_AARCH64, build tools could be updated to use them if present, or simply ignore them if they wouldn't want to handle ARM in any way. The download links would be there for any purpose. This seems - to me - the least intrusive solution, with a clean design. I truly dislike the idea of repurposing an UNSUPPORTED DOWNLOAD value for ARM purposes, it would be very unclear. Of course, the problem of having an ARM/AARCH64 DOWNLOAD link while not supporting it is present. But that wouldn't be for all .info files, probably very few of them, as the vast majority have a unified DOWNLOAD for sources that works everywhere, even ARM or AARCH64. That might be a simple step to allow some unsupported support of those architectures. - Yth. The download links would be there for any > purpose. If we don't want to touch the structure of the ,info files, why don't we add .info_arm and .info_aarch64 files when there are special downloads required? To old tools it's just another file and it should be rather easy to upgrade tools to check for these files. They only have to be added for packages which really need it, everything else can stay the same. There just has to be a standard for this! You sound like someone who actually uses it, and wants to keep it up-to-date... Don't worry if you think it's too complicated. Unlike writing a new build from scratch, you have a working one to base your work on. It might be as simple as just changing VERSION and the download and md5sum. Therefore I had to distro hop to Void Linux. Because of this, it's probably safe to assume that all my packages are unmaintained as I have no time to update/test them if my main workstation is no longer running Slackware. Hopefully, one day I can return to Slackware when Intel Arc support reaches it. I did however install 535.98 and I tried this against kernel 6.1.47 and 5.15.127, then gcc 13.2.0 and 11.2.0 and still the same problem. /usr/lib64/libnvidia-pkcs11-openssl3.so.535.98: libcrypto.so.3 => not found If I'm not mistaken Nvidia wants openssl 3x. I hope we can somehow get this fixed for Slack 15. I'm assuming by your reply Nvidia added both of the files, for Openssl 1x 3x or did you add in the one for Openssl 3x?
