Bringing it all 'up to date' so to speak, would be a good idea of course 
in any case.

That said, I'm not clear what this 'no longer compatible ...' means 
exactly - what doesn't work and what would I need to do to see that it 
doesn't work ?

For instance, reasonably regularly I run sbofind sbocheck sboinstall  and 
it all seems to work ... at least for the stuff I use.
