[Slackbuilds-users] Request to take over popcorntime

Sometime mid-January I remembered that Popcorn-Time used to exist. Curious, I checked SBo, and apparently there was a script for it. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the program, the upstream has been long dead and the program no longer works.

As I was composing an email to propose the script's removal, my wording prompted me to see if any forks were still alive. And I found one. So instead of a removal request I instead wrote to the SlackBuild's maintainer asking to update his script to use a working fork. That was back on January 18 and I never got a reply. I checked the maintainer's activity, and he only made two contributions: one in 2015 to add the SlackBuild and another one in 2017 to update its version.

Today I spent the day writing a SlackBuild to replace the existing one. Popcorn-Time is a Node.js program, but instead of repackaging a pre-built binary or relying on internet connection I managed to build it from source completely offline by providing a tarball with vendored sources (similar to Rust scripts). It was a fun experience, and next weekend I plan to tweak the SlackBuild a bit more (I think it's possible to make it work on 32 bit systems). What I currently have is located on my github: <https://github.com/fsLeg/SlackBuilds/tree/master/popcorntime>

Meanwhile, I'm requesting to take over multimedia/popcorntime.
