Sadly that's not possible for Slackware 15.0. We're stuck with
3.9. Someone tried to submit a python3.12 build (that wouldn't
conflict with Slackware's python) and it got shot down. For now,
anyway. As our EOLed python3.9 get more and more useless, there
will be more interest in a newer python version... especially
since it doesn't look like Pat is anywhere near ready to release
the next Slackware version (15.1 or 16.0, whatever it ends up being
called). Being stuck with an EOLed python for the next year will be
intolerable, and I doubt I'll tolerate it.
For now, I'll have to use the prebuilt x86_64 binary of yt-dlp (which
I package as yt-dlp-bin). Sadly that means no 32-bit support, since
upstream doesn't provide an x86 binary.
