Fine by me since there will be no more updates to this version past April 2026 anyway. It's just as this moment, all of the scripts in SBo no longer uses nodejs (version 20) and all have been migrated to build with nodejs (version 22) -- Willy Sudiarto Raharjo -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... LibreOffice has some typo in the .info, so you might want to grab the SlackBuild and make some minor edit before building. Last week i also missed a check on python3-cffi, which in turn conflict with existing python-cffi in -stable stock. I hope i can fix this issue for next update without breaking other scripts. Message-ID: <2988b29e-f0be-204b-da45-636ea819a1a3@gmail.com> ToME-SX (tome-sx) became broken on Slackware many git versions before the current beta or stable versions.? It no longer even runs right.?? I don't remember the last version that did, but it maybe was before the one on SlackBuilds.org, and I may have not tested sufficiently.? It may have been something like it starts but doesn't interact.? Can anyone confirm?? Since many months ago last year, the developer won't even respond to any GitHub comments/questions (even offer of letting them test on a server) getting it to work on Slackware (they seem to only use Windows).? If it's broken, instead of making it unmaintained--unless anyone knows the last version that works--is it better to simply delete?? It's kind of an obscure work-in-progress fork of Dark God's original ToME2 I don't know how playable ToME-SX even is yet. There's a permissions/ownership problem getting able to make/save/read game.sav, scores.dat.? New informal maintainer moved away from UNIX-style: no more ~/.moria-save rather than a single system-wide savefile in game's directory/folder.? I even touched /usr/share/games/moria/scores.dat and made it games:games 777 and ran as user in games group... sometimes can't create scores.dat... which should've been system-wide accessible by all users.? New code messed up entire multi-user/UNIX design of the game apparently.? I suspect it's also Windows people. It also has 'code of conduct'.? I just tried various things. It turns out that "make test" will succeed if and only if it's actually run under i3, meaning it already has to be installed. This is because it calls "i3 --get-socketpath", which only works if called from within a running i3 session. It isn't just that it can't get the socket path... it actually uses the socket to communicate with a running instance of i3. If i3 isn't running, there's no possible way for "make test" to work. So my recommendation for the SlackBuild is to get rid of the 'make test' entirely. My recommendation is to just get rid of the "make test". On a clean Slackware 15.0 VM, it always succeeds when run under i3, so we can honestly say it's redundant to run it anyway. Unless you or someone else objects, I will make this change and push it. Probably the reason Emmanuel never noticed this is that he's never tried to run it from within another window manager or desktop env. Also, I notice the last git log activity from Emmanuel N. Millan was almost 2 years ago... URL: From willysr at slackbuilds.org Sat Feb 28 01:47:00 2026 From: willysr at slackbuilds.org (Willy Sudiarto Raharjo) Date: Sat, 28 Feb 2026 08:47:00 +0700 Subject: [Slackbuilds-users] Updates - 20260228.1 Message-ID: <20260228084700.3d3f913e@home.slackie.org> I want to remind every maintainers to update their local copy for their SlackBuild scripts from our website or git repository in order to prevent reverting our changes from previous submission. It would be better if you clone our git repository and start from there. Another note for maintainers who maintain a project that often release new version more than once a week and push PR. I think it would be better to wait until close to weekly public update schedule to push PR to prevent a merge conflict when multiple admins doing approvals or admin have to redo the work.
