I tried KMyMoney2 the last time gnucash failed to work (Slackware and the
rest of the world moved to GTK+2 and guncash still insisted on GTK+1). I
found it buggy, awkward (too much reliance on the trackball), and ugly (too
much eye candy for my liking).
I've just discoverd homebank from France. It's a GTK application (in C)
and has non-standard terminology, but I can probably make an American
translation or change the source headers if it's a big enough issue. I
suspect it will do all that I want, regardless of how he names things (e.g.,
banks are wallets in homebank. Shrug.)
With gnucash, however, it's all down to a problem with g-wrap. The gnucash
developers are helping with that. I want to get it working here, then
document everything on their wiki (and a couple of other places) to make it
easier in the future for me and everyone else.
