[Slackbuilds-users] libcap Question

Libcap is very much a mystery to me.

Again, I'm running Slackware 12.1. 

The kernel is compiled for:

grep CAPABILITIES /boot/config
CONFIG_SECURITY_CAPABILITIES=y
CONFIG_SECURITY_FILE_CAPABILITIES=y

The SlackBuild for libcap-2.11  for 12.1 gave me some error problems 
compiling, but not anymore.  I don't know what changed but it just 
compiled without a hitch.

Anyway,
I have libcap-1.97-i486-1_SBo.tgz  for 12.0 installed.
I have libcap-2.11-i486-1_SBo.tgz  for 12.1 compiled.

Can I just:
removepkg libcap-1.97-i486-1_SBo.tgz
and
installpkg   libcap-2.11-i486-1_SBo.tgz

without messing with header files?
