No need for symlinks:

$ cat /etc/ld.so.conf 
/usr/local/lib
/usr/i486-slackware-linux/lib
/usr/lib/seamonkey

As you said, there is the presumption of a full installation of
Slackware, so we won't be creating the symlinks here.
