I also encountered this in the past when using TV7 on Linux to connect
to a Windows host with TV6. I didn't have a chance to test on other
conditions. It's an irritating requirement since they upgrade major
versions over not-so-long periods.

By the way, I see that you get rid of $MAIN_VER and use the hard-coded
teamviewer8. Yes, it's easier to read, but you would need to edit
several places when version 9 comes out. Personally, I would use
$MAIN_VER instead. Of course if they change the file structure again,
it will not have much advantage since you have to edit those places
anyway.
