There's a strong reason why we keep the ffmpeg version in the SBo
repository and update it only when a new Slackware gets released.

ffmpeg is used by many packages, both as mandatory and optional deps and
newer version *may* break some packages, so we need to make sure
everything is OK with the new update.

As other have said, you have all you need to update the version for your
own system. The scripts and source are available from SBo repository and
the upstream site.
