I use RSS a lot, and have a software folder in Liferea. Didn't know
about their feeds though, so thanks.

I also use some other FOSS OSes and have their feeds, so see some
relevant things for my install of Slackware (on the laptop).

Mailing lists work, as any reader already knows :) There's many
announce ones out there, and gmane.org do (or did) RSS feeds for lots
of lists.

Some application homepages have an RSS feed of use.

And one thing I've thought of, but don't do, is to have a filter of
installed SBo packages in my RSS reader against SBo's changelog RSS
feed. It might be possible to automate (ie hack) updating the filter
from a list of installed *SBo packages, too.
