Apparently, what happened is that someone told them they have been
doing their git tags wrong:

... which is true, and I wish all the other upstreams that put the
project name in their tags would stop doing that.  But why the bloody
hell did they delete lots of the old tags? They could have just added
new tags :(

It also affects the md5sum and the top level directory name, so that's
all fixed now.

(I see 0.5.4.8 is out btw)
