It's weird because I specifically put the --without-SDL configure flag 
in the SlackBuild script, so it shouldn't even be trying to use the SDL 
libraries.

I'll do a bit of a research to see if I can figure out what the problem 
is. It looks like I need to upgrade a few packages (I have a leptonica 
and tesseract build waiting, but iulib looks like it's a bit out of date 
too). I'm hoping simply bumping versions will fix a lot of issues...
