[Slackbuilds-users] Spotify SBo needs attention

Thanks, the 64 bit works for me, I did not have any splash graphics issues at all. But the only problem I have is, it will not play any local files. So, make sure you do not let it add any local files to your spotify list, because Spotify use a local file instead of its online file when loading a playlist. I'm wondering if a codec or symlink lib is missing. But it does not bother me too much as I use Rhythmbox for my local files. Anyway, just wanted to confirm this works for a non-paid (free) account on spotify with a 64 bit architecture.

I got the thing to launch, and i made a test account and signed in, and it seems to work.
WHen you first launch, there's a weird splash graphic that appears and won't go away. Close spotify and relaunch and the splash graphic will either be gone or it will go away eventually. I believe this is a known issue, as I saw some complaints about it on some spotify forum someplace.
Try it out. If it works I'll send it as an anonymous update to the current slackbuild, cuz man do I not want to be the maintainer of this mess! :^)

A few months ago I had emailed the maintainer of the Spotify SBo, letting him know the source link is no longer available as it has been updated to a new version. This new version is not compatible with the current build script and needs a re-write. I have never received a response, nor has it been updated... therefore I hope someone that knows how to fix this would kindly take-over as the new maintainer. I'm afraid my scripting skills are not even close to fixing this. I have tried and failed.
